Tectonic plates drift, and magma rises from the earth's core. Volcanoes erupt, and ash fills the air. Crops die, cities are ruined, and animals--sometimes intelligent--are buried and lost to time. Isle of Ashes is an adventure game that follows Dr. John Mouse, an archaeologist mouse, exploring a mysterious island and the complex conflict of the creatures that inhabit it. Among them is a lurking volcano, and the growing dispute between the residents of whether or not to leave their homes. John must unite all the groups and convince them to flee, unearthing their ancient conflicts and navigating their societies in decay.
